Here at DediKate, we focus on all the benefits of exercise! We support all women and their families, with a particular passion for rural and regional communities.
Women are so often left out of the conversation when it comes to rural mental health, yet we face many of the same struggles as our farming males. We are passionate about shedding a light…. And with the help of Rabobank, we’re teaming up with two awesome charities in New Zealand and Australia that are doing awesome work in these spaces. Not only will you be working out to feel great, you’ll be supporting and encouraging others too!
The purpose of Workout for Mental Health is:
- Working out for the benefits to our Mental Health
- Highlighting the mental health benefits of exercise and shining a light on rural womens mental health.
- Raising funds for our two mental health charities - Will to Live and The Blue Tree Project
Get fit, feel great and help others!

Our Why
Exercise to us is about so much more than weight loss or weight management. Exercise helps our trainers to manage their own mental health, it improves our confidence, energy levels, reduces anxiety and more. We want women to experience how successful they can be with exercise too, when they focus on how great exercise makes them feel.
We also see this as an amazing opportunity to support mental health. There has been a lot of much needed work in rural communities around de-stigmatizing mental health for men. Rural mental health awareness is growing, however women on farms or small communities are often missed out of the conversation. We're passionate about helping all women and we see Workout for Mental Health as way to highlight the struggles rural women face, and give them a healthy way to prioritise themselves all while helping others!
Did you know?
Those living rurally are 1.2x more likely to be sedentary and research shows that suicide in rural areas is higher than any other demographic.
In a recent study done in Australia, approximately one in 10 Australians have been diagnosed with a mental illness, and the number was much higher among women and young people.
Focusing on how exercise made me feel, instead of trying to be 'skinny', changed everything for me!
