This apple crumble contains a thick layer of warmly spiced apples covered by a delicious oats-y, nutty topping.
Ingredients:
Apple mixture
- 4 green apples
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Topping
- 1 cup oats
- ½ cup flour
- ⅓ cup almonds flaked
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbs butter melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup maple syrup
Directions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Dice apple into small cubes. Combine diced apple, lemon juice and cinnamon in a bowl. Pour into a baking dish and level.
- Add oats, flour, almonds, cinnamon, butter, vanilla and maple syrup into a bowl and mix. Pour the crumble topping on top of the apple mix.
- Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until apples are soft and the crumble is golden.
Serves: 4-5
