I finally wanted to take a moment to say thank you so so much for this amazing platform!
I joined almost 4 months ago and wasn't sure how things were going to go, but I was determined to give it a good try. I have a 2 and a 4 year old, and last time I joined an online exercise group (not DediKate) it didn't work out so well and I just never made time or felt like I could fit it in.
Part of the reason I decided I needed to do something for myself was my anxiety - I was getting random bouts of anxiety and I had actually booked a GP appointment thinking I may need to go back on medication, but because the wait to see a GP is so long, I thought there must be something I can try in the meantime. Within a week of making time to do some exercise, I noticed a massive improvement in my mental health and cancelled my GP appointment! And I haven't had to even think about it since. I never expected to see such a huge improvement so quickly, but it's been one of the things that has helped me continue to be consistent.
I realised that I do have the time, I just need to make it happen. Sometimes I get to exercise on my own, often my kids are home and try to 'help' or exercise with me, but either way I am getting it done.
I've just completed the Lift challenge and I am honestly so stoked with the results of my fitness testing today. I definitely feel stronger, but it's awesome to have the fitness testing to see how things have improved.
During my second pregnancy I had a terrible time with pelvic pain and was seeing a physio regularly, and sadly it didn't just go away after I had him so I continued with physio for a while. My problem was that I knew what exercises I needed to do (she'd given me a program), but I just wasn't doing them. I did reformer pilates for a while, but could only really afford to go once a week so I knew it wasn't a long term fix. Because I knew what exercises would help me and which ones to avoid, I've been able to adapt the DediKate workouts, and again it has made a massive difference. Last weekend I went on two long walks and normally the next day my pelvis would be really sore, but I had zero pain this time around.
There are so many other benefits I've noticed, like my terrible posture which is so much better now, and the fact that I'm improving my upper body strength which has never been great. I could honestly go on and on!
You are all absolutely amazing, I love how real you are and the motivation you give during the workouts makes such a difference, it feels like you are right there with me.
