How To Exercise On Holidays! (If you want to)

You may be planning your upcoming holiday so that you can get a well-deserved rest, or perhaps you are trying to figure out how you can stay active for those feel-good endorphins while you are away!
No matter how you feel about working out on holidays, you shouldn't worry about losing progress - a week or two off regular workouts won't harm your progress.
In general, noticeable changes in strength take several weeks to occur, so a decrease in muscle mass isn’t something to worry about during a short holiday.
You can pick up right where you left off after a rest period, and some people even feel better - mentally AND physically - after a period of rest!
However, if exercise is something you do for the emotional and mental health benefits and would like to continue throughout your holidays, we've put together some of our top tips to work out during the holidays (if you want to).
Reduce your expectations!
The holidays should be about taking a rest from your everyday routine. Try and approach your holidays with a goal to simply keep your body moving, rather than trying to smash new fitness goals.
You may notice that when you return to your normal, everyday routine, you may even notice an improvement because your muscles have had time to recover!
Look for activities with adventure! 🌊 🤿
Whether you're with your family or on your own, seek activites such as surfing, snorkeling, stand up paddleboarding, kayaking or swimming! If you're in the colder areas of the world, you could try snow sports or hiking!
Even if you're at home for the holidays, try and make the most of the environment that you're in. Go for a walk or bike ride and make the most of that beautiful summer daylight. ☀️
Take equipment with you!
As well as our no equipment workouts, on DediKate we use pieces of equipment that are easy to slip into your luggage, such as Resistance Bands. We also use equipment that is easy to find anywhere, such as cans, a broom or a ball! 🏀
