Keeping a Healthy Balance Over Easter
It's all about balance!
Easter is a tricky time of year to stay on track with your health and wellness goals. We are all about enjoying the holidays without any guilt. We believe it's all about balance - what you do MOST of the time, not SOME of the time that counts. If you eat healthfully and move your body regularly, there is no need to worry about eating the occasional hot cross bun or chocolate egg!
Keeping these simple tips in mind will help you stay healthy and enjoy Easter with family and friends.
Our top tips:
Remove any guilt, shame or labelling foods as ‘bad’. Making yourself feel terrible over a not so healthful decision isn’t doing any good! Accept your choice and move on to making your next one more in line with your goals.
Make healthy choices with your meals and ensure you are eating enough! As a result, you'll be more inclined to make healthier decisions by listening to your body. Start your day with a breakfast that is rich in protein and healthy fats to keep you full throughout the day. Plus, at least you know you're getting one nutritious meal in!
Don’t deny yourself. If you love a hot cross bun with butter - have one! Really enjoy every mouthful and move on. Depriving yourself of something will only make you want it more and you’ll be less likely to stop at one when you eventually give into the temptation!
Keep the foods that make you feel good sight, and keep the foods that are high in sugar etc out of sight. This is an easy trick to stop mindless snacking – out of sight, out of mind and all that! You could also prepare a container of healthy snacks in the fridge, such as veggie sticks and dip and fresh fruit!
