When you're hoping to see physical or mental changes, one thing to remember for long term results is that there really is no quick fix.You need to make sustainable and achievable lifestyle changes to see and feel a difference. This does not mean drastically cutting your diet or over-exercising your body throughout the week. This means finding the right balance and the number of workouts that work for YOU to keep you healthy and active.
Finding Balance
Working to find balance will enable you to complete and sustain the workouts that you need to do to find those results and maintain your muscle mass. If you overload yourself or put too much pressure for results you can risk a chance of burnout, injury, fatigue and an unhealthy relationship with your body.
Long Term Goals
When you are looking to make a lifestyle change for your health and fitness, look at your goals and see them as long-term. Focusing more on the exercises you are doing is much more than just doing it for appearance sake. Look at it more as taking care of your body - helping your focus, lowering stress, improving your mental health, increasing strength and fitness and helping your heart health. Think about what and how you are feeling inside!

Results are more than appearance
Results are more than just a noticeable physical change. Results can be shown in many ways! For example - increasing weight in your weight training sessions, being able to do a few extra repetitions of an exercise or being able to run a little farther. Maybe you can now move that heavy box in your house that you couldn’t do before!
Try to focus on what your body is now able to do, not so much on your physical appearance. Most importantly, celebrate those smaller wins in your life.
Have patience!
There truly is no magic number as to when you will start to see results because everyone’s body is different and responds to training in different ways. The most important thing to be aware of is to learn to be true to yourself: in your workouts, your approach to eating healthily, and in creating balance. Have faith that those moments when you really don’t want to do that extra burpee, are totally worth it!
Be patient and you will eventually see the results you are after. Thank your fabulous, strong, beautiful and able body that it can exercise! Take time to recover when you need it, keep looking forward, don’t get discouraged and celebrate the smaller wins!
