DediKate with a Mate is one of our most successful challenges on DediKate! Having a friend or family member join you in your fitness journey makes it more fun, motivating and accountable - and that's what makes it such an efficient and effective challenge! How does DediKate with a Mate work?
- You receive points for completing a workout. You will be competing against a friend or yourself to see who gets the most points in the 8 week challenge.
- A max of 4 workouts a week can count toward your points.
- The planner is where you plan your weekly workouts and tally up your points!
- Different types of workouts have different point values.
- Choose up to 4 workouts that you would like to do for that week and record the corresponding points for that workout on your workout points tracker.
- There is an option each week to receive a Bonus Point - these can be found in the weekly challenge emails! 👀
For those who would prefer to do the challenge solo, we've got you covered with a DIY planner so you can follow along and challenge yourself to earn points!

Does my mate need to be a DediKate member?
Yes, and your mate can be anywhere in the world!
What if I can't find a mate?
We've designed a specific planner to DIY if you would prefer to challenge yourself and work towards points this way, or you can head to the DediKate Support Group on Facebook to pair up with someone!
What types of workouts are in the challenge? 💪
We have a wide range of workouts on DediKate including: Weight Training, HIIT, Boxing, Yoga, Pilates, Low Impact and Pregnancy and Postpartum. Each different type of workout is worth a different amount of points and you get to choose which ones you do!
FAQ's
Are the workouts suitable for all fitness levels?
Our workouts are suitable for ALL fitness levels! Our trainers provide modifications for all fitness levels, and encourage you to do your best.
If you are pregnant or postpartum, simply print the DWAM Planner and then follow our pregnancy programme, DediKate Baby, or our postpartum programme, DediKate Glow. This means you can do the right programme for you, but still take part in DediKate with a Mate and be in the running to win the prize!
Do I need equipment? 🏋️♀️
If you DON'T have Dumbbells, simply select workouts with no equipment! All you need is a small space to workout and either a phone, tablet or laptop.
IF you want to do workouts with weights, you will need:
- 1 set of Dumbbells, 1-3kgs
- 1 set of Dumbbells, 4-10kgs
- Swiss Ball (can do without)
And for some fun, our favourite non-essentials include earphones, a Pilates Ball, a Kettlebell and a set of Resistance Bands! Get them HERE!
