"I have completed the DediKate48 – possibly in a different way to others!
It gave me confidence to drop out some workouts, focus on balance, and through the last few weeks, discover that moving and exercise can fit around my life and give me more benefit than me making my life try to fit around exercise. The latter resulting in low energy, tiredness, overtraining and obsessive thinking about when I was going to get the next workout in!
I have now made a plan up of 5 exercise days combining some workouts but keeping it to around an hour, including my runs and allowing 2 days for rest and recreation, yoga, etc. I just choose the day that suits me best, and have it done by the end of the week.
This has taken the pressure off so much, I feel so balanced and energised and your recent chat about not being able to do everything was incredible, and so true especially with the amazing new workouts coming on!!
I had the most enjoyable weekend away that I've had in a long time with family, enjoying the extra indulgences, games and walks with the kids and one beautiful morning run, and I didn’t even pack my bands in this time (I usually do)!! I took an extra hour of sleep in the mornings instead of dragging myself up at 6am after a social night or 2 to run or do a speed session and felt good about my decision. Thanks for your support and giving me the chance to discover that I needed to find balance! It is so far, successful work in progress!
