"Our holidays always involve fitness so this challenge worked in so well!
We were very fortunate with the weather as we toured around the North Island. We managed 3 bike rides in the Redwoods totalling 35kms. (One ride when I fell over and really hurt myself I was scared about carrying on and going on further rides, but I hid that fear from the boys. They were so kind towards me by warning me of jumps ahead.)
We went on lots of beach walks and added in little extra exercise challenges; like squats, press ups, jumping jacks and running races!
The healthy eating conversations were awesome, on our last day away I said would you like a pie or Pita Pit for lunch and they both yelled out Pita Pit! Yay success! (Secretly I was hoping that would be their answer!) We had fun looking through your website for healthy treats we could make and enjoyed the peanut choc biscuits.
The worksheets we kept until today and they loved them, reflecting on what they had learnt from our conversations. We see fitness as a daily part of our lives and wouldn’t change a thing.
This was truly a fun challenge that we all learnt something from.
