Benefits of step counting:
As well as doing DediKate workouts, you will track your daily steps and have a daily step goal! Here are some of the benefits:
🚶🏽♀️A great way to build healthy habits in your life such as parking further away, taking the stairs, walking while waiting.
🚶🏽♀Easy to get started, you’re doing it anyway! Focus on consistency first before the intensity and then the habit will come.
🚶🏽♀️Motivating seeing your daily steps
🚶🏽♀️Holds you accountable - If you choose to share your steps and goals, this allows you to support and receive support from the DediKate community!
🚶🏽♀️Reminds you of your progress - A reminder helps to increase the number of steps you do each day. For example, you could progressively add 100 steps each day! This also helps to see how far you’ve come! 🎉
🚶🏽♀️Easy to track your progress and therefore make adjustments where needed to avoid a fitness plateau.
🚶🏽♀️Helps to monitor other health goals such as general fitness, mood, weight management, quality of your sleep, stress and mental health.
🚶🏽♀️Complements DediKate workouts by aiding in recovery as well as increasing your cardiovascular physical fitness.
HOW TO TRACK YOUR STEPS:
If you don't have a fitness watch to track your steps, you can also use your phone!
iPhone: The Apple Health app gathers health data from your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and apps you already use, so you can view all of your progress in one convenient place.
Android: When you open the Google Fit app, you'll find your fitness activities at the top of the screen. This summary includes estimates of active minutes, steps you've taken, calories you've burned, and your last workout.
What each number of steps equates to:
- Approx 4300 steps = 3km
- Approx 5700 steps = 4km
- Approx 7100 steps = 5km
- Approx 10,000 steps = 7km
- Approx 14,300 steps = 10km
- Approx 17200 steps = 12km
- Approx 20000 steps = 14km
